The overall sonic aesthetic of this album is the only aspect to be commented on. There are no twists and turns, no nooks and crannies as with other IS albums. IS11 presents a 'less is more' approach with super slow, lo-fi boom-bap beats that trade only a couple of grimy loops back and forth throughout each track. No extra sound bites and nothing fancy. The title of the album, 'Cement' and the cover art- says it all.... Just a solid foundation of grit with some stray weeds peering through the cracks. That's all.
